Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

Orvana is a peer support community for parents of autistic children. These terms explain how the platform works, what we expect from members, and what we can and can't promise. We've written them in plain language on purpose.

By creating an account or using Orvana, you agree to these terms.

Who can use Orvana

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and participate in the community. Orvana is designed for parents, guardians, and caregivers of autistic children and young adults.

By signing up, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.

This is peer support, not professional advice

Orvana is a peer support community. It is not a medical service, mental health service, therapy platform, or crisis intervention service. Nothing shared here - by other members, by Orvana, or by us - should be taken as medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.

What you find here are the real experiences of real parents. That has enormous value. But it doesn't replace the professionals who know your child and your situation. Please use both.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988, or text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line.

How we expect members to show up

The community pledge isn't decoration - it's how this place works. When you join Orvana, you agree to:

We reserve the right to remove content or accounts that violate these standards, without notice.

Your content

When you post in the forum, share a milestone, or contribute to the community, you keep ownership of what you write. By posting it, you give Orvana a non-exclusive license to display it within the platform for other members to read.

We will never sell your content, use it in advertising, or republish it outside of Orvana without your explicit permission.

If you post anonymously, your name is not attached to the content publicly - but your account is still linked to it internally for moderation purposes.

Milestone moderation

Milestone Moments submissions are reviewed by our team before they appear publicly. We may decline to publish submissions that don't fit the spirit of the space. This isn't a judgment on your experience - it's to keep the mosaic coherent and safe.

Account termination

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. We'll remove your profile and personal information within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, repeatedly disrupt the community, or engage in behavior that harms other members. In serious cases we may do this without prior notice.

Platform limitations

Orvana is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it running well, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted access, and we're not liable for any decisions you make based on what you read here.

To the extent permitted by law, Orvana's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (which, if you're on the free tier, is zero).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Orvana grows. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know by email. Your continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Questions

If you have questions about these terms, reach us at [email protected]. We're a small team and we read everything.
